Ezytreev tree management software

I have been using Ezytreev tree management software since 2015 when I used it to aid with managing a large tree stock for a local authority. I am still using it today for tree condition surveys for private trees in gardens, allotments, parks, woodlands, estates and any sites that require tree survey data to be collected.

It allows for a complete inventory of a tree population, tracking the changes of each tree at each survey and building up a historical record to aid with the long-term management of the trees individually as well as collectively. It is a cloud-based system with flexible configuration, embedded GPS and a smart sync system. The desktop browser version and mobile app are easy to use and work on Android, Apple and Microsoft devices.

The species list can be expanded to add new species and show both Latin and common names. You can gather height data and crown dimensions for a diameter spread as well as for all four cardinal points. Age, condition, and stem diameters as ranges or specific numerical details as well as additional comments about the site and the tree.

The database can hold multiple photographs of each tree or asset. Additional data can be uploaded and linked to each tree, for example, aerial inspection or Picus reports, so the history remains with each tree, which is available each time the tree is inspected.

The detailed site-specific features, tree conditions and recommendations can be selected from drop-down lists which can be customised. For each item selected, you can add further free-form text to expand on any comments about the tree to highlight further detail. A risk assessment forms part of the assessment and the type of risk assessment is also customisable.

It allows you to record the basic tree inventory data plus the location of the tree asset with GPS accuracy, Ezytreev then applies what3words, OS coordinates and longitude and latitude. In addition, a user-applied descriptive location can also be added. The mapping system itself allows for the ID reference to be turned on or off and to show the species names as well as a fixed symbol or the canopy dimensions. Below are a few examples of survey sites showing the versatility of map-based recording for various sites, from small-scale to large-scale sites. The system allows for printing off maps to customisable scales and the ability to move the ID tags to improve the visibility of the map and filter the data to show specific data sets.

The mapping system is also customisable for colour coding the trees, for example, if you want to highlight a particular species or see the urgency for tree works, monitoring, overdue inspections or work or re-inspection regimes. Examples of this are shown below, allowing for quick visual review of the data.

Multiple additional modules complement the inventory module that allows for annual budgeting, raising tree works orders, customer enquiries, tree contractor module, asset management and managing tree preservation orders. These are exceedingly useful for local authorities managing large tree populations and having a holistic land and tree management system in place.

It is a very versatile system allowing for proactive tree management. It enables you as a tree manager to prepare financial reports, forecasts for budget purposes, species diversity assessments, generate data for freedom of information requests and lots more.

The on-site module allows you to collect the tree inventory data out in the field easily on a tablet and syncs with the master database. It is easy to use, and I use a Samsung Galaxy Tab S9 lite for tree surveying currently as it is lightweight, has good battery life, has inbuilt GPS and is a cellular tablet, improving the GPS accuracy for plotting and syncing out on-site.

I have continued to use it for tree surveying as part of my tree consultancy due to its great functionality and use for tree management both on-site and from the office using the browser-based version of Ezytreev software. There is also online training and user guides alongside a support team that cares and has excellent technical ability.

The support provided by RA Systems who develop Ezytreev is really effective, they are available to help efficiently with queries and questions and are quick to find solutions to any enquiries. They are willing to continue to develop, improve and expand the capabilities of Ezytreev as well, so it is continually improving with added reporting functions and so much more.
