It is not every day you get to go up in a Mobile Elevated Work Platform (MEWP) to carry out an aerial inspection, and it is a very useful method to gain access to a tree at height. This allows you to assess in more detail the canopy, crown structure, forks and unions, the upper side of branches and the overall crown and stem condition at height, much of which cannot easily be observed in detail from ground-level inspections.
This aerial inspection was one of the recommendations from a Picus Sonic Tomograph assessment of the Cedar tree to assess the overall condition of the tree and develop a management strategy to aid with the long-term maintenance of the tree.
